CINCINNATI — The Bearcats bolstered their edge-rushing group by adding 5-star from Virginia Tech via the transfer portal. The 6-4, 251-pound defensive player will spend his final year of eligibility with Cincinnati.
After four seasons with the Hokies, McCray lost his starting position in 2024, playing just 64 defensive snaps across six games and finishing with a 51.8 PFF grade. Over his career, he tallied 5.5 sacks in 675 defensive snaps.
McCray becomes Cincinnati’s second edge-rushing addition, joining Jaylon White-McClain from Old Dominion. The two will compete for key roles alongside Mikah Coleman, Marquaze Parker, and others.
