COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) – Texas A&M wide receiver announced his decision to transfer to Georgia on Tuesday, according to a source familiar with Georgia’s recruiting efforts.
Thomas led the Aggies in receiving this season with 574 yards and eight touchdowns. Over three seasons with Texas A&M, he recorded 73 receptions for 984 yards and 15 touchdowns.
This season, Thomas surpassed 100 receiving yards in two games, posting 109 yards against Arkansas and 124 yards against Auburn. However, he also recorded four drops.
Thomas will reunite with James Coley, a former Texas A&M assistant coach now serving as Georgia’s wide receivers coach. Coley previously coached Thomas during his first season at Texas A&M in 2022.
The Aggies have added three wide receivers through the transfer portal to strengthen a receiving corps that struggled to create separation this season. Texas A&M ranked 75th nationally in receiving grade, with a 69.0 rating, according to Pro Football Focus.
The incoming group is led by former Texas Tech standout Micah Hudson, a 5-star recruit from Lake Belton High School in the 2024 class. The Aggies also brought in Mario Craver from Mississippi State and K.C. Concepcion from North Carolina State. Noah Thomas’ departure marks the third wide receiver to leave Texas A&M during this transfer window, following Cyrus Allen and Micah Tease.
After Texas A&M’s Las Vegas Bowl loss to Southern California, Thomas spoke about how the defeat would serve as motivation for the team.
“We really wanted this one,” Thomas said. “We were trying to use this one as the first step going into next season. It’s going to drive us and push us. Every time we think about giving up, we’ll have to remember moments like this.”
