As the 2025 NFL offseason progresses, teams are locking in preparations to position themselves for success in the upcoming season. But it’s also the time when personal stories begin to surface off the field. For Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay, that came in the form of a major personal milestone.
During an interview with “Rams Nation” on Thursday, June 19, as the team held OTAs, McVay was asked how he’s doing both personally and professionally as he heads into his ninth season with the franchise. In response, he shared some significant personal news involving his wife, Veronika.

McVay expressed gratitude for entering his ninth year with the Rams and reflected on how his journey as a husband and father has shaped him into a better coach and leader.
“I feel really healthy,” McVay said. “I’m incredibly thankful to be entering Year Nine. I think as you grow and experience different stages in life—whether that’s being a husband or a father—those things also make you a better coach and help you form deeper connections and relationships.”
In the same interview, McVay also mentioned that acquiring current Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had been a potential move for the Rams at one point, though re-signing Matthew Stafford ultimately took priority.
While discussing life with his wife and their son, Jordan, McVay shared the exciting news: they’re expecting another baby boy.
“We’re having another little boy,” McVay revealed with a smile. “We’re expecting our second, and we’re really excited. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Since becoming head coach, McVay has transformed the Rams into a competitive force in the NFC West. With the division wide open heading into the new season, he’ll look to guide the team back to the playoffs and aim for another Super Bowl run.
Still, some things go beyond football—and for McVay, the upcoming addition to his family is a moment bigger than anything that happens on the field.
