FC Metz are reportedly in negotiations to sign 32-year-old Maxime Dupé from OGC Nice, according to L’Équipe.
Dupé, who joined Nice in January 2024 as backup to Marcin Bulka, has made just five appearances across all competitions. With Bulka likely to leave the club this summer, Dupé could also be on the move.
Metz, newly promoted to Ligue 1 after defeating Stade de Reims in the relegation/promotion playoff, are in need of a first-choice goalkeeper. Following the departure of Arnaud Bodart—who had hoped to stay after joining on a short-term deal—Metz have turned their attention to Dupé.
With Nice eyeing Strasbourg’s Robin Risser, Dupé’s role as the No. 2 is uncertain, and the club is open to letting him leave. Given that Dupé’s contract runs out next summer, Metz are aiming to land the experienced French keeper at a low cost as they prepare for their top-flight return.
