BREAKING NEWS: Minnesota DE 5-star commit to Senior Bowl just now

A fourth Minnesota Golden Gopher has been added to the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. On Thursday, Gophers defensive end/RUSH end Danny Striggow received a last-minute invitation to participate.

The Long Lake, Minnesota native shared with ESPN that he got the call late Wednesday night, asking if he could make the trip to Mobile for the final practices of the week.

Striggow recounted receiving a call at 11:00 p.m. CT and then taking two flights—one from Minneapolis to Atlanta and another from Atlanta to Mobile—before heading straight to the field.

Unfamiliar with the American defense’s schemes, Striggow quickly warmed up and jumped into practice after likely receiving a brief rundown from an assistant.

“I just came in here to play ball,” Striggow told Berry about his mindset on arriving in Mobile. ESPN commentators praised him during their feature on him, with Berry noting, “That’s football in a nutshell. Football guy.”

This season, Striggow posted a career-high 52 tackles for the Gophers, along with five sacks, six tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Over his career, Striggow played 52 games, accumulating 124 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and 14.5 sacks.
