The Montreal Victoire have added more depth to their roster by signing American forward Hayley Scamurra to a two-year deal, the team announced Tuesday.
Scamurra, 30, split last season between the Ottawa Charge and Toronto Sceptres, tallying one goal and two assists over 25 games. She also helped Team USA win gold at the 2025 IIHF World Championship.
Known for her experience and strong two-way game, Scamurra is expected to complement the team’s style of play, joining fellow new recruit Shiann Darkangelo. “Hayley is a power forward who competes hard in all three zones. She’s made her mark in this league and on the international stage. Her physicality and dependable two-way play make her a great fit for us,” said Victoire GM Danièle Sauvageau.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Scamurra notched five goals and five assists in 24 games during the league’s inaugural season. She has represented the U.S. at six World Championships and the 2022 Olympics.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the Victoire! This team has an impressive roster and experienced coaches that I can’t wait to learn from. I’m especially looking forward to feeling the energy of the Victoire fans this season,” Scamurra said.
With this move, Scamurra becomes the first player to suit up for all three original Canadian franchises. She previously played under Montreal head coach Kori Cheverie in the PWHPA with Team Harvey’s, alongside stars like Marie-Philip Poulin and Ann-Renée Desbiens.
