The Indiana Hoosiers have been actively engaging with the transfer portal in the Big Ten Conference, recently bringing back familiar face Louis Moore, a defensive back from Ole Miss, according to several reports.
Moore, who spent two seasons at Indiana in 2022 and 2023, is now transferring back to Bloomington after a stint in Oxford.
He began his college career at Navarro Junior College in Corsicana, Texas, where he played both offense and defense. As a wide receiver, Moore accumulated 48 receptions for 713 yards and five touchdowns over two seasons. On defense, he recorded 18 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recover
y, and one pass breakup. He also had four kick returns for 66 yards.
At Indiana in 2022 and 2023, Moore played in 24 regular-season games, posting 93 tackles, three interceptions, five forced fumbles, two touchdowns, and one pass breakup. Last season at Ole Miss, he had 33 tackles (14 solo) and one pass breakup in 10 games under coach Lane Kiffin.
For the 2025 season, Moore and returning senior safety Amare Ferrell are expected to be the starting safeties. Moore’s experience and skill will provide leadership and enhance the secondary, which had been a weak point in their defense, particularly in terms of depth.
