The Reds acquired right-handed pitcher Owen White from the Rangers on Monday in exchange for cash considerations.
The 25-year-old pitched three games for the Rangers in 2024, allowing eight runs in three innings. He also appeared in 29 games in Triple-A, posting a 5.64 ERA over 99 innings with 87 strikeouts.
White was drafted by the Rangers in the second round of the 2018 MLB Draft and was their third-ranked prospect in 2023.
This trade adds depth to the Reds’ pitching staff and provides an opportunity to revive a former top prospect.
