BREAKING NEWS: Transfer news LIVE as Rangers and Celtic plus Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs eye signings. Rangers sign a forward star players for £45 Million

Transfer Activity Heats Up in the Scottish Premiership

Rangers are wasting no time in the summer market. New boss Russell Martin has already made five signings and looks set to add a sixth, with Sheffield Wednesday winger Djeidi Gassama on the verge of a move to Ibrox. Martin, eager to inject pace into his squad, is also reportedly eyeing Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski—someone he previously monitored while managing Southampton.

Meanwhile, over at Celtic, Brendan Rodgers is reshaping his attacking options. Nicolas Kuhn is close to sealing a move to Serie A side Como, and long-standing target Michel-Ange Balikwisha is tipped as his likely replacement. Swedish winger Isak Jansson has also withdrawn from Rapid Vienna training, amid speculation of a switch to Parkhead.

One player who won’t be going anywhere is fan-favourite Inamura, who impressed in the recent clash against Cork City. Reinforcing the forward line remains a top priority for Rodgers, with Celtic nearing a £1.5 million deal for Kawasaki Frontale striker Shin Yamada.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Aberdeen continue their hunt for a striker, despite having already secured Sunderland midfielder Adil Aouchiche on loan—their fifth addition of the window under Jimmy Thelin.

Hearts have pocketed £2 million from the sale of James Penrice to AEK Athens. Manager Derek McInnes hopes to reinvest some of that into new talent, with talks ongoing for Burkina Faso international Pierre Landry Kabore and Albanian winger Sabah Kerjota. Hibernian boss David Gray is working to bring in Australian defender Nectar Triantis.

In England, Everton have shown interest in Scotland international and Aston Villa captain John McGinn.

Celtic Look to Secure Kenny’s Future

Rodgers was pleased with Johnny Kenny’s performance during Celtic’s Ireland trip and is keen to offer the young attacker a long-term contract. Despite picking up a knock in training earlier in the week, Kenny pushed through to feature against Cork City. Rodgers stressed there’s no sentimentality behind the decision—whether Kenny stays or goes out on loan will be decided in the coming weeks.

Young Bhoy Heads Out on Loan

Teenager Jude Bonner is poised to join Ayr United on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old, who made his Celtic debut last season, will be working under former Hoops captain Scott Brown at Somerset Park. Bonner was absent from the match against Cork City as his move is finalized.

Gassama Nears Rangers Switch

Djeidi Gassama is set to become Rangers’ sixth summer signing. The club has agreed personal terms with the Sheffield Wednesday winger on a four-year deal, with only the transfer fee—estimated around £2.5 million—left to settle. Gassama netted eight goals in 47 appearances last season. He and Rangers have been based at St George’s Park this week, and sources indicate a deal is close to completion under the guidance of Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises.

Thelin Sets Challenge for Young Don

Aberdeen prospect Findlay Marshall has been urged by Jimmy Thelin to build on his loan success at Cove Rangers. The 19-year-old scored eight goals last season and will now spend time at Arbroath, where Thelin expects him to gain valuable senior experience in the Championship.
