Minnesota offensive line commit Andrew Trout has been dedicated to the Golden Gophers for over a year, frequently spending time around the football facility. Whether attending practices, camps, or games in the fall, the Rocori standout has remained firm in his commitment to Minnesota. His junior season carried high expectations, but an injury struck before it even began—he broke a toe in his left foot, sidelining him for months. Trout made his return in mid-October, and now fully healthy, he’s determined to prove himself as a senior.
This past weekend, he was back on campus for a Junior Day event and shared his experience with 247Sports.
“The visit was great,” Trout told 247Sports. “I caught part of the hockey game, spent time with some of the offensive linemen, and had a long conversation with Coach Fleck this morning. I also sat down with offensive line coach Brian Callahan for about an hour as he walked me through their outside zone schemes, explaining the calls, keys, and how they assess defensive fronts. I stayed overnight with Brett Carroll, which was awesome—he’s a great guy, and we had a blast.”
Trout also spoke highly of his time with Coach Fleck. “Every time I visit and spend time with the team, I feel even better about my decision,” he said. “When I first committed last January, I had moments of doubt about making such an early decision. But now, I can confidently say it was the best decision of my life!”
