As college football teams gear up for spring practice, recruiting activity intensifies over the next few months.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has begun in-home visits, while several recruits are planning spring trips to Oxford. Here’s the latest on Ole Miss football recruiting:

JUCO Edge Joshua Shanklin Plans Ole Miss Visit

Junior college edge rusher Joshua Shanklin, who has immediate eligibility, is set to visit Ole Miss from April 18-20. A former class of 2025 high school prospect, Shanklin is now eligible to transfer to a four-year program.

The California native from Foothill College has also drawn interest from Arizona State, Utah, and UCLA. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound defender will be a sought-after addition.

2027 Four-Star Quarterback Malachi Ziegler Visiting Oxford

One of the top quarterbacks in the 2027 class, Malachi Ziegler, will visit Ole Miss on April 19. Ziegler has already visited Oxford multiple times, including during the Rebels’ win over Georgia.

Ranked as the No. 5 quarterback, No. 3 player in Louisiana, and No. 47 overall prospect by 247Sports, Ziegler has Ole Miss high on his list of potential schools.

Ole Miss Extends Offer to No. 6 Ranked 2027 Quarterback

Continuing their focus on future quarterbacks, Lane Kiffin and his staff have extended an offer to Keegan Croucher, the No. 6 ranked signal-caller in the 2027 class. The Connecticut native has already received offers from Michigan, Indiana, and Minnesota.

Top 2026 Defensive Back Set to Visit in March

Caden Harris, the No. 11 cornerback in the 2026 class per 247Sports, will visit Ole Miss on March 21. The Brownsville, TN native is the No. 3 player in Tennessee and will make his fifth trip to Oxford.

Ole Miss Expands Recruiting Efforts with Multiple Offers

Kiffin’s staff has been busy sending out offers, including one to California running back Deshonne Redeaux, a four-star 2026 prospect. They also extended an offer to in-state wide receiver Darrion Kirksey, who recently received an offer from North Carolina as well.
