The Los Angeles Rams might not be urgently seeking a new starting quarterback, but ignoring the need to plan for life after Matthew Stafford would be a mistake. At 37, Stafford is nearing the end of his career, even if he still has a couple of productive seasons left. Behind him, the Rams’ current quarterback depth is shaky—Jimmy Garoppolo appears past his prime, and Stetson Bennett remains an unproven prospect. With that in mind, Bleacher Report has floated the idea of the Tennessee Titans trading former second-round pick Will Levis to Los Angeles.
Why Will Levis Makes Sense for the Rams
Tennessee’s recent decision to draft Cam Ward signals that the team is moving on from the Levis experiment. Though Levis hasn’t lit up the stat sheet—throwing for 3,899 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 16 interceptions with a 61% completion rate over two seasons—his potential isn’t maxed out. He could still thrive in the right system.
For the Rams, Levis represents a smart, low-risk investment with high upside. He’s only 25 years old, under contract at a bargain rate of about $1 million annually through 2026, and could likely be acquired for a late-round draft pick. Under Sean McVay, Levis could benefit from the kind of offensive structure and coaching he never had in Tennessee.
A McVay Revival Project
Few coaches are better suited to rejuvenate a quarterback’s career than McVay—just look at how he helped Baker Mayfield. Levis, known for his strong arm and toughness at Kentucky, has struggled in Tennessee’s unstable offensive environment. A move to LA would give him a chance to grow in a more QB-friendly system.
Even if he never becomes a full-time starter, Levis could challenge Garoppolo for the backup role and bring a more dynamic presence to the position.

The Rams aren’t in rebuild mode, but the need to find Stafford’s successor is creeping closer. Acquiring Levis wouldn’t require a major financial or draft investment and could pay off significantly if he develops.
