BREAKING: Rivals250 DB 5-star commits to Louisville Cardinals football

When Rivals scouted West Boca (Fla.) High School in November, standout defensive back Jaydin Broadnax took the field for a playoff game with a Louisville Cardinals decal on his helmet.

After the game, he confirmed Louisville’s strong position in his recruitment. As the New Year approached, he all but named the Cardinals his frontrunner, and on Thursday, he made another visit to campus.

During his visit, Broadnax informed head coach Jeff Brohm and his staff of his decision to verbally commit to Louisville. The news became public on Saturday.

“I had breakfast with the staff, went back to the facility to talk football, and then headed to the head coach’s office to announce my commitment,” Broadnax told Rivals. “Coach Brohm was thrilled—he jumped out of his chair, and since his office leads to the stadium, he ran outside yelling.

“We could hear him outside his office, shouting, ‘We finally got him!'”

Broadnax cited the staff’s consistency as a key factor in his decision.

“They’ve been true to everything since day one,” he said. “I talk to at least one staff member every other day, get mail from them twice a week, and have weekly conversations with Coach Brohm—more than with any other head coach.

“And it’s not just about football. They check in on me, ask about my workouts, and genuinely care. I feel like even if I stopped playing tomorrow, they’d still call me.”
