Five-star offensive lineman from Lewisville, Texas, who committed to Oklahoma in August, is expected to commit Texas in Week 13 for the Longhorns’ game against Kentucky.
“If you’re visiting other schools, then to me you’re not committed,” Venables remarked when addressing such situations, as reported by Keegan Pope of On3 Sports.
Fasusi has drawn interest from Texas and Texas A&M in addition to Oklahoma, leaving uncertainty about his commitment with just two weeks until National Signing Day. Ranked as the No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation and the fourth-best prospect in Texas, his recruitment will be one to watch.
Oklahoma football still eyeing a bowl appearance this season
Oklahoma football remains in pursuit of bowl eligibility despite a lackluster season. Following a bye week, the Sooners face a formidable challenge against No. 7 Alabama in Week 12 and will close out their regular season on November 30 with a road game against LSU. To secure a bowl berth, Oklahoma must come away with a win in at least one of these matchups.
Head coach Brent Venables is confident the Sooners can compete with anyone in the SEC, making a potential upset of the Crimson Tide on Saturday feasible. The added benefits of a bye week and home-field advantage could tip the scales in Oklahoma’s favor.
