WNBA star Caitlin Clark has shared her off-season plans, putting rumors about her joining the new Unrivaled 3v3 basketball league to rest—for now. After a standout Rookie of the Year season, Clark has added another event to her busy schedule. Following her leadership in guiding the Indiana Fever to the playoffs, the 22-year-old took a break from basketball to participate in The Annika pro-am golf tournament, focusing on refining her swing alongside top golf professionals. However, speculation about her joining Unrivaled continued, with the league set to announce its 36-player roster this week.
Unrivaled, co-founded by WNBA stars Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart, has already signed several big names, and Clark has been rumored to have received a $1 million offer to join—significantly higher than her rookie salary of $76,535. While the league has expanded to 36 players with a minimum salary of $250,000, Clark has opted for other commitments during her off-season.
One of those is her role as the featured guest at the Women’s Sports Awards on February 4 in Kansas City. The event, organized by WIN for KC, is billed as the largest luncheon celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day, and Clark is excited to be part of it. She praised WIN for KC’s efforts to create opportunities for girls and women in sports, highlighting the skills she has gained through sports, which extend beyond the court.
Despite her commitments, speculation about Clark joining Unrivaled remains, with the team’s roster selection process taking place between 11 and 11:22 AM ET—possibly a nod to her shirt number. Unrivaled’s president, Alex Bazzell, stated that while they’re not pressuring Clark, they’ve reserved a spot for her whenever she’s ready to join.
Indiana Fever teammates Aliyah Boston and Lexie Hull have already signed with the league, along with Clark’s former Iowa teammate, Kate Martin. Unrivaled’s inaugural season will begin on January 17.
