No program in the nation recruits the transfer portal as effectively as Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. Last offseason, they attracted several impactful transfers, solidifying Boulder as a premier destination for top-tier talent. Although the transfer portal officially opens on Monday, Dec. 9, players nationwide have already declared their intentions to enter.
With that in mind, here are 10 players Coach Prime and his Colorado staff should prioritize:
Kevin Concepcion, WR
Ranked as the No. 1 transfer wide receiver by 247Sports, Concepcion, an NC State standout, amassed 1,299 yards and 16 touchdowns on 124 receptions over two seasons. Programs like Alabama, Auburn, Penn State, and Kansas State are also in contention, per On3’s Pete Nakos.
Micah Hudson, WR
Hudson, a five-star recruit from the 2024 class, is ranked No. 2 among transfer wide receivers by 247Sports. The Texas Tech transfer had eight catches for 123 yards as a freshman. Colorado is a strong contender for his commitment, according to Rivals.
Eric Rivers, WR
After a stellar season at FIU with 1,172 yards and 12 touchdowns on 62 receptions, Rivers ranks as the No. 4 transfer wide receiver by 247Sports. With Colorado losing its top four pass catchers to the NFL, Rivers could provide a major boost.
Brady Wilson, OL
Wilson, a three-year starter at UAB, is ranked No. 6 among transfer interior offensive linemen by 247Sports. He boasts the fifth-highest national grade among centers and leads AAC centers in PFF grading.
Xavior Gray, OT
Gray, the No. 2 transfer offensive tackle per 247Sports, excelled at Liberty with a strong run-blocking grade and just one sack allowed in 528 snaps. He’d pair well with left tackle Jordan Seaton.
Dillon Thieneman, S
The 2023 Big Ten Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-American, Thieneman logged 210 tackles, eight pass breakups, and six interceptions in two seasons at Purdue. He could address key secondary needs for Colorado.
Jamel Johnson, CB
A lockdown defender at Temple, Johnson allowed just a 37% completion rate against him in 2024 while recording 47 tackles, nine PBUs, and two interceptions. He would complement Colorado’s cornerback unit well.
Jaden Mickey, CB
Ranked No. 2 among transfer cornerbacks by 247Sports, Mickey left Notre Dame after four games to preserve eligibility and will have two years remaining.
Josiah Trotter, LB
Trotter, son of NFL Pro Bowler Jeremiah Trotter Sr., totaled 93 tackles and an interception at West Virginia in 2024. Coach Prime’s preference for players with NFL pedigrees makes Trotter a prime target.
Bryun Parham, LB
The No. 2 transfer linebacker per 247Sports, Parham played sparingly at Washington in 2024 to maintain eligibility. His previous three seasons at San Jose State included 199 tackles and 5.5 sacks in 32 games.

- Jordan White, OL, Liberty: The No. 6-ranked interior OL by PFF, set to visit Colorado.
- CJ Heard, DB, FAU: 73 tackles and a forced fumble as a freshman in 2024.
- Cole Wisniewski, DB, North Dakota State: 194 career tackles and eight interceptions.
- Jamel Johnson, DB, TCU: 71 tackles, three PBUs, and a forced fumble in 2024.
- Keeshawn Silver, DL, Kentucky: Former five-star recruit and a highly sought-after transfer, per On3.
