The University of Louisville football program has long maintained strong recruiting connections in Georgia.
However, the Cardinals hadn’t secured any commitments from the Peach State in the Class of 2026—until this past week. Now, they’ve landed two Georgia pledges in a row, the latest being cornerback Kris Brunson from Brookwood High School in Snellville, Ga.
Brunson, who stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 180 pounds, took an official visit to Louisville over the weekend and committed to the coaching staff before heading home. He announced the news on Twitter.
His recruitment gained momentum this spring, with schools like Miami, Mississippi State, Wake Forest, Memphis, Virginia, and Virginia Tech extending offers in May. He visited Colorado State the previous weekend and had visits to Virginia and Mississippi State on his schedule.
Last season, Brunson recorded 34 solo tackles (41 total) and broke up nine passes. Since releasing his junior highlight film, he has drawn significant interest. Speaking with 247Sports last month, he shared his thoughts on his performance.
“I think I showed I can compete with top receivers,” Brunson said. “I displayed solid recovery speed, strong man coverage skills, and an ability to break up passes.”
Earlier in the week, Louisville also picked up a commitment from Krew Moledor, an offensive lineman from Gainesville, Ga.
