Notre Dame center Pat Coogan has committed to Indiana.
With the departure of Mike Katic, the Hoosiers had an opening at center. We had previously reported that Coogan was planning visits to both Indiana and Michigan.
Coogan was a key player on Notre Dame’s strong offensive line and gained attention for his fiery, expletive-filled pregame speeches, some of which were captured on video during the team’s national championship run. Pro Football Focus ranked him as one of the best offensive linemen for the Irish.
Notre Dame is likely to feel Coogan’s absence, as the transfer portal has not been kind to their offensive line, particularly in terms of player departures. The only silver lining is that the Irish won’t face him unless the two teams meet again in the 2024 College Football Playoff.
