Victor Osimhen Keen on Manchester United Move
According to a recent report from Fichajes, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is eager to secure a move to Manchester United this summer. The Nigerian forward is reportedly very interested in joining the Red Devils during the current transfer window.
Strong Season in Turkey
Osimhen had an outstanding season on loan at Galatasaray, where he led the line effectively. He scored an impressive 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. The 26-year-old was a constant threat in front of goal, averaging 5.2 shots per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig, with 41.6% of those on target. However, his link-up play could use improvement, as he completed only 66.9% of his passes in league matches (stats via fbref.com).
With his contract at Napoli set to expire next summer, Manchester United could have an opportunity to sign him at a reduced fee during this window.
Would He Be an Ideal Signing for Ruben Amorim?
Osimhen has the ability to create space for himself and get shots away, while also being capable of delivering key passes in the attacking third. Known for his pace and power on the ball, and standing at 1.86m, he also poses an aerial threat.
Although he’s shown he can score regularly in European competitions, there are still questions about how well he would handle the physical demands and pace of the Premier League. Nevertheless, Osimhen would strengthen United’s forward line and could become a regular starter under new manager Ruben Amorim.
Given his goal-scoring pedigree and the fact that he’s approaching his peak years, Osimhen would be a major upgrade over the likes of Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee, making him a highly appealing target for United this summer.
