The Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be assembling an unstoppable superteam in Southern California. Their pitching rotation now features Shohei Ohtani, Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, and Blake Snell. Meanwhile, their lineup boasts stars like Mookie Betts, Will Smith, Freddie Freeman, and the dual-threat Ohtani. And they’re not done yet—rumors suggest the Dodgers are still pursuing top free agents such as Corbin Burnes and Juan Soto. Additionally, the team is seen as a potential destination for trade targets like Nolan Arenado of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Arenado could be an ideal trade fit for Los Angeles, particularly if the Cardinals are willing to cover a portion of his remaining contract and accept a modest return in prospects. With his no-trade clause, Arenado has significant control over his future and could push for a move to a preferred destination. Interestingly, the Cardinals’ All-Star third baseman recently dropped a subtle hint about his future.
In an Instagram post titled “Offseason Photos,” Arenado shared 12 pictures accompanied by the song Dodger Blue by Kendrick Lamar. Fans have speculated that this could signal his awareness of trade rumors and perhaps even his openness to a move back to Southern California. A lifelong Dodgers fan from Lake Forest, California, Arenado is a five-time Silver Slugger, 10-time Gold Glove winner, and eight-time All-Star. With three years and $52 million remaining on his contract, the Cardinals would likely need to cover part of the deal to facilitate a trade. Whether the song choice hints at a future with the Dodgers or is purely coincidental remains to be seen.
