Veteran quarterback has agreed to a one-year contract extension with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, keeping him with the team through the 2026 season, according to sources.
Collaros originally signed a three-year deal in October 2022, which was set to run through 2025, earning $600,000 annually for a total of $1.8 million. Prior to that, he became the CFL’s highest-paid player in January 2022 with a one-year, $550,000 extension. After leading Winnipeg to a Grey Cup title in 2019, he signed a two-year contract covering the 2020 and 2021 seasons.
The 36-year-old quarterback has led the Bombers to five consecutive Grey Cup appearances, winning championships in 2019 and 2021. He was named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player in both 2021 and 2022.
In 2024, Collaros started every regular season and playoff game, finishing second in the league with 4,336 passing yards, a 70.1% completion rate, 17 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.
Over his 158-game CFL career, he has completed 67.5% of his passes for 32,935 yards, 199 touchdowns, and 101 interceptions, while adding 1,323 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground. A two-time CFL all-star and three-time West Division all-star, Collaros led the league in touchdown passes three straight years (2021–2023) and was the 2021 Grey Cup MVP.
He holds a 57–18 record as Winnipeg’s starter, throwing for 16,177 yards—fifth-most in franchise history—and 109 touchdown passes, ranking fourth in team annals.
