The Cleveland Browns face a significant amount of work heading into the 2025 NFL season.

Is Kevin Stefanski Not Tough Enough as the Browns Head Coach? - Sports4CLE, 7/22/24

The team has several key positions to address, but if they can identify players who embrace the team’s culture and work well under head coach Kevin Stefanski, there’s still reason for optimism.

Many analysts and fans agree that the quarterback position is the team’s most urgent need, especially given Deshaun Watson’s prolonged unavailability in recent seasons.

Whether through the draft or free agency, the Browns will need to address this void, and analyst Tony Grossi believes that General Manager Andrew Berry will ultimately make the call.

“I’m convinced Andrew will choose the quarterback,” Grossi said. “He’ll take input from his coaches, but the final decision will be his.”

Historically, the Browns have struggled when it comes to drafting quarterbacks, particularly in the first round. While they selected Baker Mayfield as the No. 1 overall pick, his success has largely come after leaving Cleveland.

According to Grossi, Berry is determined to take control of this decision, aiming to do whatever it takes to restore the team’s relevance.

This year’s quarterback class is considered weaker than in past years, meaning the Browns may need to spend big in free agency or take an early gamble in the draft to secure a top-tier option.

With mounting pressure, Berry’s decision on the quarterback position could shape the organization’s trajectory for years to come.
