The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly considering a defensive staff addition, with interest in New York Giants defensive backs coach Jerome Henderson, according to Pro Football Talk via CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Henderson has an extensive coaching background, spending the past five seasons with the Giants while previously working with the Jets, Browns, Cowboys, and Falcons. His experience extends to his playing career, having spent eight seasons (1991-1998) as an NFL defensive back with the Patriots, Bills, Eagles, and Jets.
Following a disappointing defensive season under Gus Bradley, Indianapolis appears to be seeking a fresh approach for its secondary. With postseason aspirations in 2025, the Colts need both their defense under new coordinator Lou Anarumo and quarterback Anthony Richardson to elevate their performance. Bringing in Henderson would be a step toward stabilizing a unit that must improve to avoid major organizational changes.
