Both the UK press and Het Nieuwsblad have carried reports on Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Christos Tzolis – and they’ve laid out the positions of all parties involved.
The 23-year-old only arrived at Club Brugge in July 2024 but wasted no time making his mark: 21 goals and 16 assists last season, followed by three goals and two assists in just seven games this campaign. It’s no surprise then that he’s considered a key player for the Belgian giants.
Palace have tested Brugge’s resolve with a €32m bid, but that offer was swiftly turned down. Still, Oliver Glasner’s men aren’t walking away – another approach is expected, even though Brugge insist they’re under no financial pressure to sell.
The club’s stance is backed by Tzolis himself. He signed a new deal running until 2029 just last month and, by all accounts, is settled and happy in Belgium. Brugge want him to stay for at least another year.
Yet, there’s a twist. Het Nieuwsblad add that while Tzolis is comfortable at Brugge, he’s not closed off to the idea of a Premier League move. Should Palace come back with an improved offer, the decision could be taken out of Brugge’s hands – and the saga would truly catch fire.
