Everton enter Bojang race as bargain fee revealed
Moyes remains in need of fresh impetus in attack at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and Gambian forward Adama Bojang has emerged as a possible solution.
According to Guardian journalist Ed Aarons (18 August), Everton are keen on Bojang but will have to fend off competition from West Ham and Royal Antwerp. The 21-year-old striker is reportedly available for just £2.5million to £4million – a bargain in today’s inflated market.
Who is Bojang?
Bojang began his career at Steve Biko FC in Gambia before moving to Reims in 2023. He has made 13 senior appearances for the French club and shone for their B team, hitting eight goals in as many games.
Last season, he was loaned out to Grasshopper Zurich, where he registered six goals and two assists in 27 appearances.
But while the fee is tempting, Bojang is hardly the finished product. His numbers in Switzerland suggest he is not yet ready to shoulder the demands of Premier League football.
Everton need a proven goalscorer – someone who can deliver at the very top level – not another long-term project. Moyes already has one to mould in Thierno Barry. If the Toffees are serious about a top-half finish, they need players ready to make an immediate impact, not gambles on potential.
