JUST IN: Lady Vols Open SEC Tournament Against Arkansas

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 5 nationally ranked and No. 4 seed Tennessee Lady Vols are set to face No. 7 ranked, No. 5 seed Arkansas in the 2025 SEC Tournament on Thursday at approximately 2 p.m. ET.

National Rankings
Tennessee is highly ranked in all four major polls: No. 5 (NFCA), No. 3 (USASB), No. 5 (D1Softball), and No. 5 (Softball America). They enter the weekend at No. 10 in the RPI and No. 9 in the KPI rankings.

SEC Tournament History
This is Tennessee’s 25th appearance in the SEC Tournament. With a 33-27 all-time record, they hold the fourth-best winning percentage in the tournament, behind LSU, Alabama, and Florida—all of whom are making their 28th appearances in 2025.

Conference Dominance
The Lady Vols have excelled in SEC play, winning 22 of their last 25 conference series and compiling a 56-19 record over the past three seasons, including nine sweeps.

Versus Arkansas
This will be the fourth meeting between Tennessee and Arkansas in 2025. The Razorbacks won two of three in their March series in Knoxville. Since 2023, Tennessee has lost only three SEC series—two of them to Arkansas.

Recent Performance
Tennessee recently fell to No. 2 Texas A&M in a hard-fought series, marking their second SEC series loss of the year. It’s the first time since 2022 that the Lady Vols have dropped more than one conference series in a season.
