Minnesota offensive line commit Andrew Trout has been dedicated to the Golden Gophers for over a year, frequently visiting the football complex for practices, camps, and games. The Rocori standout has remained firm in his commitment to Minnesota, despite facing adversity during his junior season. Expected to have a big year, Trout suffered a broken toe in his left foot before his first game, sidelining him for months. He returned in mid-October and is now fully healthy, eager to prove himself as a senior.
Trout was recently among an elite group of 2026 recruits invited to the Nike Next Ones high school camp in New Orleans ahead of the Super Bowl. National recruiting analyst Mike Roach came away highly impressed with his performance.
“The player who really stood out to me was Andrew Trout, the Minnesota commit,” Roach said. “I think he’s a perfect fit for the Gophers. He grew up in the Minneapolis area, has been a lifelong fan, and already looks like a Big Ten tackle. Once he adds more strength, he’s going to be a cornerstone for that offensive line.”
Trout was also on campus earlier this month and shared his excitement with 247Sports.
“When I first committed last January, I questioned whether I was making the right choice, but now I know it was the best decision of my life. Every time I’m around the team, I feel more confident in my commitment.”
Looking ahead to his senior season, Trout is eager to showcase his talent after missing most of his junior year.
“My strength coaches and the program at Rocori are, in my opinion, the best in the state. They’ve really helped fine-tune my nutrition and training, and I feel better than ever. One of my biggest motivators this season is proving myself again—showing that I’m the best player in the state and that I have the resilience to overcome my injury without letting it affect my game.”
