Antonio Parker, a three-star defensive back from Purdue’s 2025 recruiting class, has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.
Soon after this news broke, Nathan Baird of The Indianapolis Star revealed that Parker was dismissed from the team following an arrest in Warren County (Ind.). He was arrested on January 20 and faced charges for dealing marijuana, reckless driving, and speeding. Parker posted a $200 bond on the day of his arrest.
After the incident, Purdue’s new football head coach, Barry Odom, dismissed Parker from the team. No further information has been disclosed about the situation.
Parker, a St. Louis native, committed to Purdue on December 13, after Odom’s hire, choosing the Boilermakers over 16 other schools. The 6-foot, 170-pound defensive back was ranked the No. 34 prospect in Missouri. He had received offers from several Power Five schools, including Arkansas, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Louisville, Nebraska, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Following the 2024 season, Purdue saw over 30 players enter the transfer portal after finishing with a 1-11 record and firing coach Ryan Walters. As a result, Odom signed a smaller 2025 recruiting class of just 13 players. Purdue will likely rely on transfers to bolster their roster for the upcoming season.
