BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) – Virginia Tech football head coach Brent Pry announced staffing changes on Thursday, parting ways with defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Chris Marve, offensive line coach Ron Crook, and senior director of strength and conditioning Dwight Galt IV, according to Virginia Tech Athletics.
“I am grateful for the efforts of Coach Marve, Coach Crook, and Coach Galt in their time with Virginia Tech football,” Pry said. “They are outstanding individuals who, with their families, have made valuable contributions to our university and student-athletes. However, our performance on the field has not met expectations. As head coach, it is my duty to make the necessary adjustments to return this program to its elite status and deliver the success Hokie Nation deserves.”
The Hokies (6-6) will play Minnesota (7-5) in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl on January 3 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
