JUST NOW: Patriots sign a potential target key man from Dolphins

The New England Patriots urgently need to enhance their wide receiver lineup, but one potential trade target is no longer on their radar. DK Metcalf, a two-time Pro Bowler with the Seattle Seahawks, has made it clear that he has no desire to relocate to Massachusetts.

In an appearance on Katie Nolan’s Casuals podcast, the Framingham native attempted to convince the veteran wide receiver to consider a move to the Bay State, but Metcalf wasn’t interested.

“Look how long it’s taking you to say the word. No, it’s not a desirable place, in my opinion,” Metcalf remarked. “That’s a great organization, though. A great organization.”

A second-round pick by the Seahawks in 2019, Metcalf has been one of the NFL’s top and most productive wide receivers in recent years. Adding a player of his caliber to the Patriots’ offense would help fill a major void, but it seems they’ll need to explore other options.

Alternatively, Metcalf might be open to a move to Rhode Island instead.
