The Philadelphia Phillies enter a crucial offseason with major decisions looming regarding Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, and several potential internal moves. Alec Bohm and Nick Castellanos could be trade candidates, but the organization’s prospect depth is equally important. Andrew Painter, Aidan Miller, and Justin Crawford are among their most valuable assets—yet it remains unclear whether Philadelphia would consider moving them.
According to MLB.com insider Jonathan Mayo, the Phillies have a firm stance on their top prospects.
“I’d be surprised if they traded any of their top three prospects,” Mayo wrote.
Painter, Miller, and Crawford headline the Phillies’ farm system. At last year’s deadline, the team dealt top-10 prospects Mick Abel and Eduardo Tait to Minnesota for Jhoan Duran, but refused to include Painter despite the Twins’ interest.
That approach isn’t expected to change this winter. Unless a truly elite, long-term player becomes available, Philadelphia is unlikely to part with any of the trio.
Among them, Crawford has the strongest chance to make the 2026 Opening Day roster, especially with the team seeking outfield help. Painter could earn a rotation spot with a strong Spring Training, though he may debut later in the season. Miller remains the biggest question mark—he reached Triple-A late in 2025 but doesn’t have a clear major-league role with Trea Turner entrenched at shortstop.
Whether they debut early or continue developing, the Phillies appear committed to keeping their top three prospects. Painter, Miller, and Crawford aren’t expected to be moved this offseason.
