The Pittsburgh Steelers are set to bring back veteran blocking tight end for their Thursday Night Football matchup against the Cleveland Browns. Pruitt missed Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens due to a recurring knee issue that has bothered him throughout the season.
Pruitt initially injured his knee in Week 2 against the Denver Broncos, causing him to miss the following four games. He returned for three games before the Steelers decided to hold him out for the Ravens game. During his absence, Ben Skowronek and Darnell Washington stepped in to fill his role.

When all tight ends are healthy, the Steelers typically dress all four active tight ends. Although Pruitt has not contributed much as a receiver, he has been an important blocker in the run game when on the field.
A veteran who has followed offensive coordinator Arthur Smith from Tennessee to Atlanta and now to Pittsburgh, Pruitt brings a wealth of experience in the system and helped new players learn the offense during the offseason.
