Sky Germany reports that RB Leipzig plan to sell several players this winter to raise funds.
The players expected to leave include Timo Werner, who was linked with a move to MLS over the summer, as well as Lukas Klostermann, Amadou Haidara, and Kevin Kampl.
Leipzig had initially hoped to sell the four players during the summer transfer window but failed to attract suitable offers. They now intend to offload them in January, aiming to generate around €30 million. Offloading Werner’s salary will also provide additional financial relief.
Leipzig’s season under Ole Werner:
After a heavy 6-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on the opening day, Leipzig have remained unbeaten in all competitions. A recent 3-1 victory over Stuttgart moved them into second place, five points behind the leaders, while they also drew 1-1 with Borussia Dortmund earlier in the season.
With the team beginning to find cohesion, the four players are now considered surplus. In attack, Romulo, Antonio Nusa, Yan Diomande, and Johan Bakayoko occupy the key spots, leaving no room for Werner.
