The Buffalo Sabres wrapped up their Development Camp on Thursday, but attention remains centered on the status of restricted free agent defenseman Bowen Byram. Earlier this week, TSN’s Darren Dreger reported that some teams were considering extending Byram an offer sheet, while others were exploring trade options for the 23-year-old defenseman. Among those reportedly interested are the St. Louis Blues, who, according to Jeremy Rutherford of The Athletic, are actively pursuing a trade with Buffalo.
“Bo is a high-quality player who can help us win,” said Sabres GM Kevyn Adams on Wednesday. “My stance hasn’t changed — if there’s a deal that clearly improves our roster, we’re open to it. But we’re not in a position where we’re looking to move him just for future assets. Our goal is to win games, and Bo helps us do that.”
