The New England Patriots are letting go of safeties coach Brian Belichick, according to ESPN’s report on Tuesday.
Brian, the youngest son of six-time Super Bowl champion Bill Belichick, has been with the team since 2016. He initially joined as a scouting assistant in 2016, became a coaching assistant from 2017 to 2019, and served as the safeties coach from 2020 to 2024.
The Patriots recently hired Mike Vrabel as head coach on January 12, following the firing of Jared Mayo after a 4-13 season in 2024, marking New England’s first year without Bill Belichick since 1999.
Meanwhile, Bill Belichick was hired as the head coach at North Carolina on December 11, with his other son, Steve, joining him as the defensive coordinator for the Tar Heels.
