REPORT: Mike Vrabel sent shocking message to Former Chicago Bears head coach Thomas Brown

Former Chicago Bears interim head coach Thomas Brown is set to join Mike Vrabel’s coaching staff in New England, according to an NFL Network report on Monday.

The 38-year-old Brown will take on the roles of tight ends coach and passing game coordinator for the Patriots, the report states.

Brown began the 2024 season as the Bears’ passing game coordinator, before being elevated to offensive coordinator on November 12 after the dismissal of Shane Waldron. Just two weeks later, on November 29, he was promoted to interim head coach following Matt Eberflus’s firing.

As interim coach, Brown posted a 1-4 record, securing a win against the Green Bay Packers in his final game in January.

Before his time with the Bears, Brown served as the Carolina Panthers’ offensive coordinator in 2023 and spent the 2020-2022 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams, the last two as assistant head coach.

A former running back at Georgia, Brown was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2008. He began his coaching career at the college level, working with teams like Georgia, Wisconsin, Miami, Marshall, the College of Charleston, and South Carolina.
