I was genuinely impressed with what Orlando Robinson brought to the Raptors during his short time with the team. At a point when Toronto was desperate for depth at the center position — especially as Jakob Poeltl began to carry a heavy load and eventually landed on the injury list — Robinson’s arrival was much-needed.
He entered 2025 having just been waived by the Sacramento Kings, only for the Raptors to scoop him up shortly afterward on a 10-day contract. His performance earned him a second 10-day deal, and eventually, a two-way contract in early February.
Robinson made the most of his opportunity, appearing in 35 games — including eight starts. He averaged 8.1 points on 47% shooting, added a respectable 34% from three, shot nearly 80% from the free-throw line, and chipped in about six rebounds and two assists per game. For a player the Raptors took a flyer on, Robinson proved to be a strong return on investment — a once-overlooked talent finding new life.
That’s why it came as a surprise when the Raptors waived him in early April. He’d shown enough promise to at least be in the conversation for a long-term role in Toronto.
With the 2024–25 season winding down, Robinson finished the year without a team. But in a twist that seems almost scripted, he’s now found a new home — and one that couldn’t be more fitting: the Orlando Magic have signed Orlando Robinson to a two-way contract.
Per team policy, the contract terms weren’t disclosed, but it’s been confirmed that Robinson will wear No. 7.
Once again, the undrafted big man has a fresh chance to prove himself. If his stint in Toronto was any indication, Orlando Robinson is more than capable of making an impact — whether with the Magic’s main squad or their G League affiliate in Osceola.
