The Worcester Warriors have appointed Sam Handy as their new Head of Rugby Conditioning. Handy arrives from Northampton Saints, where he was an integral member of their successful strength and conditioning team. His resume also features valuable experience with the Scarlets and Jersey Reds, the latter of whom clinched the RFU Championship during his tenure.
With a strong background in elite rugby environments, Handy will oversee all facets of conditioning at the Warriors. His responsibilities include managing on-field training programmes and collaborating closely with coaches and medical staff to enhance player development within the senior squad.
Commenting on his appointment, Handy said:
“I’m thrilled to take on this opportunity and excited about the team’s potential. This role allows me to make a real impact by building the squad’s physical capabilities. There’s a talented coaching staff and playing group here, and I believe we can accomplish something special.”
Warriors Head Coach Matt Everard praised Handy’s addition, pointing to his winning experience and dedication to high-performance standards:
