The Philadelphia Phillies recently made a significant move, addressing chatter about bolstering their starting rotation by acquiring 27-year-old left-hander from the Miami Marlins. Luzardo, a talented pitcher with plenty of potential, is under team control until 2027.
With Luzardo now in the mix, the question arises: could more moves be on the horizon? According to Edward Eng of FanSided, there are several potential trade candidates, including All-Star infielder Alec Bohm.
“Third baseman Alec Bohm has been a frequent name in trade rumors this offseason and remains a potential trade asset for the Phillies,” Eng noted. “After landing Luzardo, Philadelphia should continue to make aggressive moves to secure another marquee player and solidify their roster. However, acquiring top talent often requires parting with quality assets.”
At 28 years old and entering his prime, Bohm could be the key piece in a trade for a game-changing player. While the Phillies have publicly stated they’re not actively shopping Bohm, MLB insider Jon Morosi believes otherwise, suggesting he may indeed be on the trade block.
If the Phillies are looking to make another major splash this offseason, Bohm could be their most valuable trade asset to achieve it.
