Tottenham manager Thomas Frank has left Bissouma out of the squad for Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Paris Saint-Germain, citing repeated lateness by the Malian midfielder.
This isn’t the first time Bissouma has been omitted from a matchday squad. Last year, under former Spurs coach Ange Postecoglou, he was similarly excluded after footage emerged showing him inhaling nitrous oxide from a balloon.
Despite disciplinary concerns, his on-field quality is unquestionable, with the midfielder consistently demonstrating control and dominance in the middle of the park.
According to transfer expert Tavolieri, both West Ham and Everton are expressing interest in signing Bissouma as they look to strengthen their midfield ranks. A key factor in his decision could be the desire to remain in England for at least another season, which may help his bid for a British passport.
While staying at Tottenham is still an option, Bissouma may explore alternatives if he doesn’t feature in Thomas Frank’s plans, with Everton and West Ham emerging as potential destinations.
West Ham’s interest in Bissouma makes sense, as the Hammers are seeking a midfield reinforcement following Carlos Soler’s return to PSG, after a relatively underwhelming spell at London Stadium. Bissouma now joins a growing list of targets for David Moyes’ side.
Everton’s situation is slightly different. Moyes already has a strong midfield pool, including James Garner, Carlos Alcaraz, Idrissa Gueye, Tim Iroegbunam, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Garner has impressed in a deeper role during pre-season and could occupy that position in 2025/26. Yet, while technically adept, Garner lacks the combative quality Bissouma offers in breaking up opposition attacks and shielding the defense.
If Bissouma were to leave, Tottenham might be willing to sanction the move, provided a fee close to his £21m Transfermarkt valuation is met.
