Ffrench, a standout from Jacksonville, Florida, exemplifies Texas’ growing success in recruiting from the Sunshine State. However, Florida-based programs are determined to keep him closer to home.
With head coach Billy Napier confirmed to return to Gainesville next season, the Florida Gators have intensified their efforts to land Ffrench. He recently visited Gainesville to watch the Gators’ victory over LSU, which raised some concerns for Longhorns fans. Despite this, Ffrench announced on social media that he plans to visit Texas again for their Week 13 matchup against Kentucky.
While some might not view a trip to his committed school as noteworthy, it’s a valuable opportunity for Texas to solidify his commitment. The Longhorns are expected to lose key receivers like Matthew Golden and Isaiah Bond to the NFL, making Ffrench a crucial piece of their future offense. Alongside fellow elite recruits Kaliq Lockett and Daylan McCutcheon, Ffrench’s addition would keep Texas well-positioned for offensive success.
