Texas Star Sends Shocking Message To Fans After Declaring For NFL Draft

The Texas Longhorns made a powerful statement in their inaugural season in the SEC, finishing with an impressive 13-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in conference play. Their journey ended in the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff with a 28-14 loss to the eventual national champions, the Ohio State Buckeyes. Following the conclusion of their season, several standout players announced their intentions to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, including tight end Gunnar Helm, who decided to leave Texas after four years. Helm expressed his gratitude to Longhorn Nation through a heartfelt message on social media, simply stating, “Thank you Texas.”

After redshirting as a freshman, Helm began his collegiate career in 2022 with five catches for 44 yards. Over three active seasons, he amassed 1,022 receiving yards, nine touchdowns, and 79 receptions, with the bulk of his contributions coming during the 2024 season. Other Texas players who have declared for the 2025 NFL Draft include Quinn Ewers, Kelvin Banks, Cameron Williams, Matthew Golden, Isaiah Bond, Vernon Broughton, and Jaydon Blue.
