One of Pitt’s towering twins has a new home.
Guillermo Diaz Graham, a 7-foot junior forward originally from the Canary Islands in Spain, announced his commitment to the University of San Francisco on Monday night.
This past season at Pitt, Diaz Graham averaged 6.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game, shooting 42% both from the field and from beyond the arc.
Guillermo and his twin brother Jorge entered the transfer portal following the season, with both retaining one year of eligibility.
In a social media post on March 27 announcing his decision to transfer, Guillermo shared: “Over the past three years, I’ve grown in ways I never imagined, especially off the court. It was an honor to wear the Pitt jersey, and I’ll always be proud to have been part of this program and culture.”
Following a 17-15 season (8-12 in ACC play) and missing out on the NCAA Tournament, Pitt saw six players enter the portal, including point guard Jaland Lowe, who has since committed to Kentucky.
The Panthers now have just three scholarship players left on the roster: starting forward Cam Corhen and reserves Brandin Cummings and Amdy Ndiaye.
Head coach Jeff Capel has added four transfers so far: center Dishon Jackson and guard Nojus Indrusaitis from Iowa State, shooting guard Barry Dunning Jr. from South Alabama, and guard Damarco Minor from Oregon State.
West Virginia lands forward
New WVU head coach Ross Hodge announced the addition of forward Jackson Fields. The 6-foot-8 senior comes from Troy, where he posted averages of 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds per game, shooting 48.7% from the field last season.
Fields becomes the fourth transfer to join West Virginia this offseason, alongside Chattanooga point guard Honor Huff, North Texas forward Brenen Lorient, and UNCW center Harlan Obioha.
More Pitt players enter portal
Two walk-on offensive linemen from Pitt’s football team—twin brothers Brody and Graysen Riffe, each listed at 6-foot-8 and 320 pounds—are entering the spring transfer portal window. Both are redshirt sophomores.
Additionally, redshirt freshman lineman Adham Abouraya (6-5, 305) also announced his intent to transfer. He did not appear in any games last season and still has four years of eligibility.
Other transfer news:
- Penn State men’s basketball has picked up its first transfer of the offseason: 6-foot-7 guard Josh Reed from Cincinnati. Reed averaged 2.8 points and 2.1 rebounds over three seasons with the Bearcats.
- Saint Francis junior point guard Riley Parker has committed to Portland. He averaged 13.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists last season.
