According to L’Equipe, Lille are demanding €40 million for center-back Bafodé Diakité this summer.
The report states that both Bournemouth and Sunderland submitted €27 million bids for the defender, but Lille rejected them. Despite Diakité expressing a desire to move to the Premier League, the club remains firm on their asking price. He is under contract until June 2028, and Lille have no plans to compromise.
Diakité has already agreed to personal terms with Bournemouth, as previously revealed, while the opportunity to work with Régis Le Bris at Sunderland is also said to appeal to him.
Sunderland have been active in the French market this summer, and Diakité is now firmly on their radar. The key issue remains whether either club is willing to meet Lille’s €40 million valuation, with a €13 million gap still to be bridged — otherwise, they may need to explore other options.
