You Won’t Believe What Alexander Said After Dramatic Doncaster Clash

City manager Graham Alexander shared his thoughts after watching his side fall to their first defeat of the season, a 3–1 loss away to Doncaster Rovers.

Although clearly frustrated by the result, Alexander felt there were positives to take from the display.

He said:
“Of course I’m disappointed, but I don’t think our overall performance was poor. We gifted them a couple of soft chances that put us under real pressure and stopped us from putting together the complete performance we wanted.

“Credit to Doncaster, they were excellent today, but we don’t usually concede in that manner. For us, it’s about how we respond. This is just our first defeat, and now the focus is on bouncing back.”

Despite the setback, Alexander pointed out that City have lost only once in ten matches so far, with plenty of encouraging signs during the opening month of the campaign.

He continued:
“We have to see this as a one-off. We’re still the same side that started the season so strongly. We’re a good team and need to remind ourselves of that.

“I put a big emphasis on body language and mentality. There’s no room for a victim mentality here – it’s about getting straight back to work on Monday, not waiting for the next matchday.

“This season has already shown the quality we have. We just need to keep our heads high and move forward.”
