
Los Angeles Angels key man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend in Long Beach last month.
The incident occurred on Nov. 22 at approximately 11:40 a.m., when Long Beach Police Department officers responded to a call in the 900 block of Gaviota Avenue, according to a police statement.
The victim, identified as 21-year-old Justice Lopez, was transported to the hospital by paramedics but later succumbed to her injuries.
On Nov. 26, investigators located the suspect, Lopez’s ex-boyfriend, in the 6100 block of Orange Avenue, according to LBPD. He was taken into custody on two unrelated warrants and remains held without bail after detectives linked him to Lopez’s murder.
Due to the suspect’s age, his name has not been released. Police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting.
